Crochet colour block shawl, Bibi Shawl Lite, Free Pattern

I am excited to share with you my first triangle shawl this year. Technically, it is not new.I used a lighter weight yarn and used 2 colours instead of one. Here is the original pattern and it is still as good and stylish.

Everyone needs that one fancy shawl that makes a statement. Upscale with this elegant pattern and turn heads on your evening get together downtown, Let’s be honest, most restaurants can be quite chilly and Lulu Lite is the answer to your problem.

The great part about this pattern is that, it can be paired with anything, from dress pants and blouse, to jeans and t shirts to maxi dress.. I used Hobbii Kind feather which is very soft and light weight.

This shawl’s simplicity is an understatement. The use of the basic stitch is the main attraction. The 1 row repeat makes this pattern easy to memorize, no need to keep referring to the instructions. The stitch definition from this yarn is amazing and very neat. Color change is also flexible, you can decide when to change them.

Here is another idea, you can make the body of the shawl in one colour and add your contrast on the edging at the end. This combo allows you to mix warm colors and cool such as mustard to make it pop. You cannot go wrong with grey, which can be both warm and cool.

When I first thought of designing a triangle shawl, It felt intimidating but I promise you. It is very easy, once you get the hang of increases you got it. The satisfaction you get as the shawl grow row by row is amazing. You can make this as big as you want. Check out the step by step video tutorial to coach through increases if this is your first shawl.

I was going for a subtle, clean drape for the main body of the shawl and finish with a playful texture creating ribbing. The pattern uses single crochet in the back loop and front loop, how easy is that? This would a perfect pattern for a crocheter who is ready to venture into something practical and stylish. If you have an outdoor wedding to attend, this would give you an opportunity to choose colours based on the dress you will wear and match them.

The pattern has a tutorial on YouTube here for you to watch, pause and take as much time as you need to make this wonderful piece. Do not forget to SUBSCRIBE, I would appreciate your support while I share my passion with you.
