If you are like me and love texture, this fun and easy pattern covers that, it gives a subtle clean lines. Meet Lulu crochet shawl pattern. It is a pretty shawl/wrap perfect for season transitions. The simplicity of this pattern should call your name and the drape is unbelievable.
This pattern is the easiest of all my shawl patterns, it’s a generic triangle shape made from single crochet and double crochet stitches. It is a great piece to embrace your feminine side. Spring is time to add colour to your wardrobe, feel and enjoy breeze without feeling like your face will fall off. I would like to assume we all hate days when temperatures are 30 degrees below. Lulu shawl provides you with a layer that is light and has eyelets to give a spring and summer vibe.
The simplicity of this design makes it meditative and therapeutic once you finish with the first repeats of the shawl. All you need to know is single crochet in the front loop only to create the clean lines and texture you see in the pictures. It is so repetitive that If you can crochet while watching tv, this is it. I failed miserably the few times I tried so If you have tips, please share them with me.
YARN
Yarnspirations Ogo yarn is what I used for this pattern.I love how clean the stitches come out using this yarn.It is soft, the elasticity is amazing and there is no luster. There are different colours in one big donut but I separated the colours and caked them so that I get clean colour changes. I used only four colours out of five because I used two donuts and the shawl was big enough. The yarn is 100% acrylic and you can use any worsted weight yarn.
You can substitute the yarn with the following options from Lionbrand Yarns. There are so many colour
Make sure you block your shawl, It makes a big difference. You will have somewhat curls on the edge and the stitches at the tip are made between the chains, the stitches will look bumpy but it goes away after blocking. Tye eyelets also looks much cleaner and taller.
