GLAM COLLECTION PATTERNS

Have you ever fall in love with a song or movie that you can play or watch it over and over again? When I go drop off my kids to school I blast out volume and sing out loud, sometimes out of tune. Anyway the point I am trying to make is, I fell in love with single crochet in the front loop only at the beginning of the year and I still am. I ended up designing three patterns using the same stitch. It is very simple, uses the basic stitch single crochet and I love the line and subtle ridge or lines it create.

You can purchase the pattern here on the Website, Ravelry or Etsy. It is a beautifully written pattern that is great for a beginner.

GLAM BEANIE

The amazing thing about this hat is that, the brim seam is invisible. This means it has a seamless look instead of getting a getting a bulky seam from like most bottom up hats. When i first designed hats with brim,I did not like the seam from the slip stitch. Some times it does not feel comfortable, it leaves a mark on my forehead or where ever the seam is when you take the hat off and it does not look good, so I came up with an idea where I leave a long tail when I start my brim and then use the tail to seam the brim before I start on the body, genius idea right?!!!! Instead of joining the brim with a slip stitch,I use a mattress stitch for my brim

Glam beanie gives your head a hug.It snugs really well and it customized to fit your head. It is reversible as well because of the invisible brim. You can make your brim wider or add more rows to the body to create a slouchy hat it that Is your thing. It uses bulky weight yarn number 5 which makes it quick. The Picture below used Hue and me by Lionbrand which has so many colour options

GLAM SHAWL

GLAM SHAWL was the second pattern created from the stitch. It creates such clean , simple texture that is pleasing to eyes.

You can purchase Downloadable PDF here on the Website

Glam shawl was the next design I made with the same stitch. It is designed bottom up as well. It is a triangle shawl made with same yarn as glam beanie, which means it is bulky, dense and perfect for those -25 degrees Celsius days to keep you warm. When I first designed the shawl,I Made increases in the front loop, just like the rest of the pattern but it did not work, I had gaps at the beginning and end of each row which wasn’t pretty. So back to the drawing board,I made my increases as a normal single crochet stitch to eliminate the gaps which are at the edges of the shawl.

This gorgeous shawl is made using Hue + me yarn from Lion brand which is 80% acrylic and 20% wool. It is an accessible yarn from different yarn companies such as We crochet or KnitPicks which is the same company. A great substitute would be Color Made Easy.

Initially when i made the shawl,I did not plan on adding fringe but, it did not look complete,I had to come up with an idea to finish it all up. To be honest, fringe is one of the last things that comes to my mind when tying up a design. My first preference is edging but because the yarn is bulky,It would not have worked well. I decided to add fringes and It turned out beautifully.

I spaced the fringes out so that it does not over look powering but if you love fringes you can double up your yarn or make them as close as you want. The great thing about DIY items is that you can choose what you want to suit your personality.

GLAM CUP COZY

Glam cup sleeve pattern is a simple, reusable item which you can keep in your car for days when you forget to ask for a cup sleeve when you are in a hurry to go to work in the morning. It does not have to be just coffee, it could iced cap or milkshake now that days are getting warmer. This makes a great gift to co workers, family and perfect for market because they are so quick to make!

The pattern is written in two ways but still give you the same result. I just wanted to offer you options so that you can use the method that is easier for you. This can be made in half an hour and they are so therapeutic and mindless.

You can find INEXPENSIVE PDF pattern here Website

These are all great items for to make for friends, markets if you are a product seller or co workers as gifts. Have fun making them. Be sure to share your project with me on Instagram and use #croknitessentials and I will be happy to share them in my stories!!
