The idea behind this design was to have as less seaming as possible. If you are like me, sometimes a finished project can stay in my crochet bag waiting to be seamed together, so if you in same boat as you. I promise you Mia Cardigan only needs to be seamed at the shoulders and adding sleeves to the panels. How great is that!!

The panels are made as one piece. You start with front panel, and when you have the right size, separate the armpits and a pocket. Move on the back panel until is fit shoulder to shoulder, separate again and move on the last front panel.

The panel is made in vertical rows, so if you want a longer cardigan, your starting chains will determine the length, keep that in mind.

I went back to basics, by making is in single crochet stitch. The sleeves are made in the round and then seamed to the panel. The easiest way to figure out if the sleeve will fit,is, you should have the same number on your sleeve and the panels after they are seamed at the shoulder. This would make is easier to align the stitches together to put it all together.

The sleeves are made in the round, from the armpit to the wrist. Like I said, Minimal seaming in mind. The design is created to fit close to the arm and forearm, with gradual decreasing to fit perfectly. Slim fit is still going strong and wanted to get in with the trend.

When you get to the wrist area, continue on to ribbing and you have a beautiful sleeve.

After seaming the sleeves to the armpit hole, work on bottom ribbing and move on the front ribbing without breaking the yarn.

The fun part about this pattern is that, it has pockets. I made sure they have some shaping to keep your keys safe inside. and to keep your hands warm as well on a chilly day

I can’t hype this pattern enough. I wanted to share it with anyone who is interested in making their clothes and still learning the ropes in crochet. It is great for any level.

Yarn

The Yarn I used for this design is called Pound of Love by Lionbrand. I must say this yarn is a bit stiff so there was no major difference after blocking. I think these yarns would be great substitutes for this yarn
