It is time to bundle up. Winter is here and this pattern is for you. You may ask WHY?
First of all, it is stylish, cute and super warm. It is a no fuss kind of fashion statement and no wind can get through because it uses thicker yarn, it is excellent piece for a beginner and markets. Did I mention you can make it in an hour.
I used to sell these when I was doing craft markets and it was one of people’s favourite, I am excited to offer it as a free pattern here now on my blog. The texture on this is remarkable, the ribbing is eye catching and I love that it is unisex.
The fun part about this cowl is that, it can be made with any weight yarn, the pattern is written using super bulky weight yarn, But the Video tutorial is made with weight yarn number 5 and you can’t really tell the difference. You see how versatile it is?
What I love the most about cowls in general is that, they are so convenient, you don’t need to keep adjusting them, they are ideal for busy people, moms, hikers and kids as well. I noticed its benefits after my child, It can get really cold where I live and scarves are a must when temperatures are frigid. My daughter used to pull scarf off my neck and we will get tangled. A cowl can save you all that trouble. Use it for your kids as well if you have them, they can push it down or pull it up to cover their mouths and noses to keep warm. It a win-win!!

ABBREIVATIONS
Ch – chain
Blo – back loop only
Sc - single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
NOTES
· The pattern is worked in the round. Each round id joined by slip stitch then turn the work.
· Ch 1 at the beginning does not count as a stitch.
· Use stitch marker to help identify where you join sl st and keep the stitch count.
· You can add or remove depending on how big you want the cowl to be. You can also add more chains at the beginning if you want it snug.
PATTERN
Ch 52
Row 1: sc on the second ch from the hook and across. Ensure you do not twist your chains, join with sl st and put a stitch marker
Round 2: ch 1 and turn. Sc blo in the first st and across, join with sl st
Round 3-20: repeat round 2
FINISHING
Weave in all the ends and enjoy your new cowl.
